January 24, 2006

Dear Friends of Jungle Friends,

"Wildside" will be airing in Tampa, Florida this Thursday, January 26th on channel 10 from 4 pm - 5 pm. If you are in the area, be sure to watch. If not, the story will be on their website after it airs. Click www.tampabays10.com/aroundthebay/index.aspx to find "Wildside". The program will feature Udi and Curri.

We received a call last week regarding 55 owl monkeys who are being retired from research. The lab finally received approval from FDA to no longer test on the monkeys. Many of them have been rendered blind due to the type of testing done. The monkeys live in small family groups and range in age from 2 months old to over 20 years old, and the adult females are probably pregnant. There are several sanctuaries working to raise the funds to offer a safe haven for these owl monkeys. Jungle Friends has made a commitment to take at least two family groups. Any help you can offer would sure be appreciated. Please ask your friends and relatives to join in and help us help those who cannot help themselves.

Thank you in advance for your kind and continued support!

Lots of monkey love,
Kari and the monks
