In observance of
The Great American Meatout

The Great American Meatout - March 20, 2010

Please join us on Saturday March 20th to volunteer from 10 am - 2 pm. After your hard work we will serve you a delicious vegan lunch sponsored by A Well-Fed World from 2 pm - 3 pm. After lunch we will introduce you to the monkeys. You are welcome to stay and help us with afternoon monkey chores.

At 7 pm we will be showing EARTHLINGS, an award-winning documentary film narrated by Joaquin Phoenix about the suffering of animals for food, fashion, pets, entertainment and medical research. Claude will be serving yummy vegan snacks.

Enjoying a vegan meal
  • 10 am - 2 pm Volunteer Time
  • 2 pm - 4 pm Vegan Lunch and Tour
  • 4 pm - 6 pm Monkey Chores
  • 7 pm - 10 pm EARTHLINGS screening

If you would like to attend, please email info@junglefriends.org so we will know how much to plan for lunch. Be sure to read our volunteer guidelines and complete the application before you arrive.

With the help of compassionate people we can accomplish so much for the monkeys in our care! Please join us!

Animal Rights Conference

Kari will agian be speaking at the Animal Rights 2010 National Conference, the world's largest and longest-running animal rights gathering. The Conference will take place on July 15-18th at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Hotel, one of the national capital area's outstanding conference venues, located just five miles south of the DC line.

World Animal Day

World Animal Day was started in 1931 at a convention of ecologists in Florence as a way of highlighting the plight of endangered species. Since then it has grown to encompass all kinds of animal life and is widely celebrated in countries throughout the world. October 4 was chosen as World Animal Day as it is the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. Celebrate World Animal Day with us at Jungle Friends...
