Gizmo Sr. is a tufted capuchin who was placed at Jungle Friends on July 7, 2001 from Back to Nature Sanctuary in Orlando. His past is nebulous; we know that he was sold in New York to a young boy as a “pet”, then removed by the authorities. We are told his age is approximately 21 years. Gizmo is one of the largest capuchins at Jungle Friends and quite a handsome fellow. As far as we know Gizmo had been living without other monkey companions all of his life.
We situated Giz next to Cappy a 30 year old lone monkey of the same species and introduced the two boys to each other after two weeks. After decades of living alone, these two became fast friends and now spend their days grooming and playing with each other. It is truly heartwarming.
