Goldie, a four-year-old spider monkey, came to Jungle Friends in September 1999 along with Clydette, another spider monkey. Both were pets in Las Vegas, until their owner realized she could no longer care for them. She brought them to Jungle Friends and ensured their spacious habitat was provided for. Both Goldie and Clydette acclimated quickly to their new home.
Goldie is a spunky girl who likes to pull the hair of passing by volunteers, only then to laugh at her own antics. She also enjoys being tickled and will stick her belly out and laugh throughout. Afterwards, an excited Goldie will usually walk bipedally on her hind legs and wave her arms above her head. After her mischievous playtime, Goldie spends most of the day lounging around relaxing.
