JONI
Joni is an 18-year old cinnamon capuchin who was born disabled. Her back legs are paralyzed and never fully developed. She has acclimated amazingly well to a life without legs by walking on her hands and forearms, holding her back end up in the air. Despite her disability, Joni is a speed demon in her travels! Joni’s growth was also stunted and she weighs less than 2 pounds. She is the size of a very young adolescent monkey, but her attitude is definitely that of a confident adult!
Don’t cross Joni, as you will surely be surprised by the speed and strength that she will retaliate! Joni enjoys the ramps that connect the habitats, and spends much of her days traveling through the ramps to visit other monkeys, or should we say to threaten other monkeys in nearby habitats. Yes, little Joni does not hesitate to cop an attitude even with Billy, one of our largest and most aggressive males. Joni and Gussie have quickly acclimated to life at Jungle Friends and are doing wonderful. Joni is a wonderful daughter to her old mother, and spends much time in the sun wrestling, grooming and cuddling with her.
