KELLI

Kelli is one of the most beautiful white-faced capuchins you may ever lay your eyes on, according to Robin Gresser, Jungle Friends Director. Kelli is a nine-year-old female who came to Jungle Friends in 1998. Prior to her arrival, Kelli was kept as a "pet" who traveled cross-country with her owners in their RV. However, living in such tight quarters was not acceptable to Kelli, who took her aggression out on her human mom. In fact, Kelli does not tolerate any human woman very well, and her attacks are quite viscous. Her human mom finally said "no more" and Kelli joined the Jungle Friends’ family.

Kelli was housed with Corky, and the two have maintained a "brother-sister" relationship since 1998. Upon Corky and Kelli’s arrival to Jungle Friends in Gainesville, Clyde immediately became smitten with Kelli’s beauty and attempts to impress her with dancing and flirting. Corky acts as the protective brother and takes it upon himself to threaten Clyde, telling him that nobody is good enough for his sister! Dodger, another Jungle Friends white faced capuchin, recently moved in with Corky and Kelli and they make a wonderful threesome! Plenty of chasing and playing going on! Kelli is adored by the male volunteers, as she is always on her best behavior for them. However, any female volunteer becomes Kelli’s target...she will lure her over with innocent looks, then attempt to pull hair, scratch, or bite. She will also find the heaviest toys that she can fit through her cage and throw it directly at the volunteer’s head with unimaginable strength. Kelli is beautiful...and is determined to make sure that she does not lose her "beauty-queen" title to any female-human or non-human! Kelli is referred to as "The Princess"!
