LOUIE

Louie or "Little Lou", as we affectionately call him, is a black-capped capuchin who came to Jungle Friends on October 2, 2001 when he was just 17 months old. Lou’s owner realized that he needed a more enriching life with other monkeys. She also informed us "Lou is VERY gentle and kind, sweet and lovable." Well he certainly has lived up to that statement and more. Louie shares his habitat with five other monkeys of the same species.

When Little Lou went in for his vasectomy, they found a hernia that they had to remove. It took Little Lou several days to recover from the surgery, but he is now fully recovered and having a grand time with the other monkeys. Lou follows Buddie around constantly, watching her every move. Lou really likes Buddie, if you know what I mean. And Buddie seems to enjoy the extra attention. He has also been doing a good job of trying to keep up with Gizmo, who is like a big brother to him. Little Lou is constantly trying to get in a wrestling match with Gizzy. After a successful match, he will settle in with Gizmo or Rita and will work his way into their laps for a grooming session. After a few minutes of rest, he is either tugging at Gizmo to go at it again or looking for some good loving from his girlfriend Buddie.
