Mickey is a white-faced capuchin who arrived at Jungle Friends on August 1, 2001 when he was about 8 years old. He was found secreted away in the woods of Louisiana in a small wire cage by the authorities and was confiscated due to charges of abuse. Mickey is very active and always on the move visiting the other monkeys that live here at the sanctuary. He claps his hands to get your attention so he can dig in the palm of your hand while he makes his contented purring noises.

Mickey also uses his applause to get the attentions of the other female monkeys in nearby habitats. He seems to think he is the Don Juan of the primate world. Mickey also has an on-going feud with Clyde in a neighboring habitat. We hope to socialize Mickey with one of our other groups of white-faced capuchins once we get the larger habitats in place. He is one of our largest capuchins here at Jungle Friends and he is always looking for a special treat. Mickey is quite a character, as his name depicts.
