Gilbert McGreedy is a squirrel monkey estimated to be in his late teens. He arrived at Jungle Friends on August 19, 2004 when he was retired from research. His monkey companions Buddy, Moses and Howard accompanied him. Gilbert and his friends were stolen from their natural habitat in the rainforest and used in the lab for nearly two decades and housed alone. These monkeys were given a new life here at Jungle Friends.
Gilbert McGreedy is a dominant male ready to charge any situation, especially when it comes to food! He has fully enjoyed all of the new foods and treats given since his arrival. Often, Gilbert’s impatience shows as he quickly grabs his favorite foods without hesitation. One of Gilbert’s favorite past times is to do somersaults around his perch. He also enjoys flirting with his friends. Since his arrival, Gilbert has loved to entertain himself with his new toys. He gazes in the mirror and thoroughly enjoys his a ball.
