Goober

Goober Goober is a tufted capuchin, estimated to have been born in the late 1980's and arriving at Jungle Friends on April 8th, 2005. Captured in the rainforest as a youngster, Goober was stolen from his natural home and exported to the US where he was sold into research. Goober lived for nearly two decades housed alone in the lab. Fortunately, after the research program ended, Goober and eight other tufted capuchins were retired from the laboratory to Jungle Friends.

Goober Goober enjoys exploring his surroundings and really loves to interact with his monkey friends. Goober is a bit fickle though, one moment flashing a play face and the next a threat. One thing for certain, Goober loves being the center of attention. Goober lives with Angel, another retired lab monkey and although Goober and Angel have not yet played, we are confident that will come in time. We consider the 'play state' the highest state a primate can achieve. Goober and his monkey friends are thoroughly enjoying life at Jungle Friends.

Check out Goober's video clips!
