Isabelle

0 Isabelle is a black tufted-ear marmoset who arrived at Jungle Friends in April of 2006 at 1˝ years of age. Isabelle was a ‘pet’ monkey who had began attacking her human ‘owners’. While Isabelle was very enthusiastic about all of the new sights and sounds, she seems to be most intrigued with her neighbors, Jimisett and Mojo, two white tufted-ear marmosets paired together. Often you will hear her chattering with Jimisett and Mojo, we think that she was jealous that they had each other and she was alone.

0 Then Little Dodger arrived on the scene a few months later, we think it was love at first sight. Little Dodger is a white tufted-ear marmoset and just a couple of months older than Isabelle. The two were situated in adjoining habitats to get to know each other. Of course we could not introduce them until Little Dodger had a successful vasectomy and when the vet school called us on 8/10/06 with the good news, we planned for the big event the next day. It was a ‘love connection’! First they played, chased each other around, ate out of each other’s food bowls, and were intimate, then ended with a lengthy grooming session. Watching the two of them finally have a monkey friend for the first time in their lives was truly heartwarming!
