Little Dodger is a white tufted-ear marmoset who arrived at Jungle Friends on July 27, 2006. Dodger was born into the exotic pet trade on August 22, 2004. He was stolen from his natural mother and kept as a ‘pet’ until he jumped off his “owner’s” shoulder in a restaurant and bit a customer on the ear. Well, you can imagine how well that went over!

Little Dodger was very excited about all of the new sights and sounds at the sanctuary, and fascinated with his beautiful neighbor Isabelle, a young black tufted-ear marmoset. Of course we could not introduce them until Little Dodger had a successful vasectomy and when the vet school called us on 8/10/06 with the good news, we planned the socialization the next day.

It was love at first sight! First they played, chased each other around, ate out of each other’s food bowls, were intimate, then ended with a lengthy grooming session. Watching the two of them finally have a monkey friend for the first time in their lives was truly heartwarming!
