Pipperoo

0 Pipperoo, also known as Pippi, is a female tufted capuchin monkey. She arrived at Jungle Friends on July 9, 2006 when she was twenty-one years old. Pippi was rescued after she had several owners and bounced from home to home. Pippi’s rescuer then brought her to Jungle Friends because at 70+ years old, she knew that Pippi would most likely outlive her.

0 Pippi is a very sweet little monkey with diabetes. She was socialized into a group with Buddie, Connie, Jill and Tyler; all of the monkeys in this group were diagnosed with diabetes except Jill. Diabetes is on the rise in ‘pet’ monkeys due to a poor or unbalanced diet, lack of exercise, sedentary lifestyle and stress.

Pippi is getting along better than we could have hoped. Often you will find Pippi being groomed or grooming Buddie, Connie, or Jill. These three girls are quite the trio. She is not too sure of Tyler, but I am sure she will warm up to him too. Pipperoo also interacts with the monkeys in the surrounding habitats. You will often find her flirting with Billy, Cody, and even Scooter.
