Toothless Max and April arrived at Jungle Friends with their former “owner” who lived with the monkeys in a 5th Wheel. Toothless Max and April spent their days driving from state to state posing with people at fairs and carnivals. At 75 years old, the “owner” decided he and the monkeys were ready to retire. Thanks to donations made by our Jungle Friends’ supporters, we were able to raise the funds to build a habitat for these two beautiful capuchins.

April was shy at first, but after just a few hours she was letting everyone around her know just how happy she was about this move! April has the sweetest smile and will sit on her Monkey Bars watching all the activity going on around her. She adjusted very quickly to her new life at Jungle Friends. April arrived with Toothless Max, a weeper capuchin, who traveled with her from carnival to carnival. The two monkeys were kept separate on the road and are different species. We tried to socialize them here, however, as it turned out, Max was not a good companion for sweet April. So she was introduced to Mongo, a match made in heaven! Gizmo Sr. lives next door to the pair, he recently lost his long-time companion Baby Rosie, the three are getting to know each other and we are hoping for a successful match between the threesome!
