Ethel arrived with a group of capuchins rescued from a bankrupt roadside zoo. We knew the group included a nursing mother and infant, but they were part of a family group occupying a single habitat, so it sounded like a simple rescue. Then things got complicated! We were told all the males were vasectomized, so it was a surprise when three monkeys gave birth! All the boys were separated into a bachelor group until they had vasectomies and the mothers and their babies were separated so Ethel and the other females without babies could be reintroduced to the single boys. After Thomas recuperated from his vasectomy he was reunited with Ethel, they were so happy to be back together, they are a model couple.
