Micky

  • Species: Brown Capuchins (Cebus apella)
  • Gender: Male
  • Birthday: June 9, 1994
  • Arrival: June 28, 2014
  • Background: Research
  • Character: Self-reliant

Micky and six other capuchins were retired to sunny Florida after spending their entire lives at the University of Georgia (UGA) lab. When he arrived at Jungle Friends he was the palest of the UGA monkeys, but now he has a great tan to go with his little belly that has come along with his love of food.

Micky’s communication methods are different from many capuchin monkeys. When he is happy and excited it can seem like he is angry or threatening, but he is just excited that food may be coming his way. Micky will interact with his fellow monkeys, but he is a bit of a loner. He is very happy chasing bugs around his habitat, his favorites are large grasshoppers.
