Silly Willy

  • Species: Brown Capuchins (Cebus apella)
  • Gender: Male
  • Birthday: January 6, 1987
  • Arrival: January 6, 2016
  • Background: Research
  • Character: Playful

Silly Willy was captured in the wild and sold into biomedical research. He arrived at Jungle Friends with seven other capuchins. These boys were used in iron-toxicity studies and spent years in a metal cage – all alone. This study is over and all of the monkeys are now in sanctuary retirement. Silly Willy is bouncy and playful, and uses his toys as instruments to make the most noise possible. Silly Willy is the most active, and gets very flirtatious with his caregiver, especially during dish washing time. We feel that Silly Willy will easily adapt to the great outdoors this spring! See more about the Ironmen here!
