Annie

Annie was purchased from a breeder when she was 6 months old. Annie’s guardians were at a groomer, and shown a variety of “pets” available, Annie was among the “pets” for sale. They met Annie who was kept inside and they felt compelled to ‘rescue’ Annie from her situation with the breeder and brought her home. Annie was dressed and diapered and left to run loose in the house. Soon they realized Annie needed a monkey companion, so another monkey named Ben was purchased when he was just 2 weeks old. Ben and Annie became best friends.

Ben and Annie arrived after a long drive from Illinois. Ben was the first to venture into his runway connecting his indoor enclosure to his outdoor habitat. Annie was more cautious than her best friend Ben. She let Ben do the exploring and report back to her inside while she ate constantly – Annie is a champion eater! Later that day, Annie ventured through her long runway into the outdoor habitat and enjoyed fresh air, sunshine and foraging opportunities. Now, both Annie and Ben spend the majority of their time outside. Annie settles in at night, tucking herself completely under her blankets.
