Mickey was confiscated when he was found by authorities, secreted away in the woods of Louisiana in a small wire cage. We tried to socialize Mickey with other white-faced capuchins, but it always ended in a fight. When he showed interest in a weeper capuchin named Ebi we decided to give it a try and let them meet. Ebi was also having problems getting along with other monkeys, but by some quirk of fate, these two ‘bad boys’ hit it off and became fast friends. They have a wonderful time wrestling and playing chase all around their large habitat. Mickey is very active and always on the move, even when he isn't playing with Ebi. He can often be found in his barrel entertaining himself with a ball, admiring himself in a mirror, or playing in the "monkey rain." Mickey is also known for his enthusiastic clapping -- he throws one leg up in the air and claps his hands together, drawing the attention of everyone around him, Mickey seems to appreciate the bows of the carestaff during the applause.
