Travis came to Jungle Friends from New York when his guardian could no longer care for him. Travis has had nearly all of his teeth removed to reduce the severity of his bites; this was advised by the breeder. Teeth extractions and other mutilations are all too common with ‘pet’ monkeys.

When Travis arrived, he was timid and frightened. He had never been around other monkeys, and had not been outside for twelve years. It was almost a month before he finally ventured from his indoor enclosure into his outdoor habitat.

Now Travis has learned to be a monkey among monkeys. He joins right in with the others as they eat, forage, and bask in the sun. Travis loves to play and has a great time climbing and swinging through his spacious habitat. Travis has a gentle soul and spends his days peacefully enjoying life with the companionship of other monkeys.
