SARAH

Sarah, a seven-year-old brown capuchin, is the oldest of three sisters who arrived at Jungle Friends at the end of May 2003. Like her sister, Anna Claire, Sarah is diabetic. Her medical condition was critical when she arrived, but she quickly responded to the JF treatment of controlled diet, low stress, and plenty of exercise, raising hopes that Sarah can, after all, avoid the need for insulin therapy entirely.

Sarah, unlike the more deliberate Anna Claire, is a little speed demon. It is hard to get her to stay still; she is constantly in one runway or another and climbing up and down on the wood perches running all around the habitat. Sarah is a big flirt with the volunteers, begging for all that attention that she knows she deserves. She also likes to visit with Bailey, the young white-faced capuchin next door. Could it be love? Or does Sarah just love to flirt?
