Ebi in 'The Thigh Bones Connected to the Hip Bone'

Bad news: We learned that once the hip is out of the socket for more
than two hours, scar tissue starts to form and that is why the hip would
not stay in the socket. One option was a surgical procedure using a
toggle to hold the hip in place, a second option was to try crushing the
scar tissue, putting the hip back in place and immobilizing the leg for
about a week, which might allow the tissue to grow back and keep the
hip in the joint. This procedure would be less expensive, but more
importantly, less invasive.
