Subject: ET's passing

Dear Friends of Jungle Friends,

It is with a breaking heart that I tell you ET passed last Friday morning. The preliminary report points to cancer. ET died in his sleep and his last days were spent in the constant company of those that loved and cared for him. Chi Chi was continuously at his side grooming him and Buddie, ET's special friend, visited from the neighboring habitat.
ET will be remembered lovingly and will be tenderly missed by all who knew him.

One of our interns, Marianna, remembers ET, "ET made an impression on my mind and heart.... He was just the sweetest soul...I know he is in a better place than here on earth...take care...."

Sharon, long time donor and true friend, sends us a verse from the Bible, Ecclesiastes 3:19: Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both. As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; MAN HAS NO ADVANTAGE OVER THE ANIMAL.

Flash also sends her blessings, "I believe ET was a profound and master teacher to all who were privileged to meet his sweet spirit...I do know that he is at peace and like so many people and animals, the lesson is to simply love them...and that is often all they really require to fulfill their rejoice in his liberation to Monkey heaven..."

I want to thank all of you for your kind words to all of us here at Jungle Friends in our time of grief and to all of you who contributed toward ET's recovery. Your generous donations in memory of ET will be put into the Medical Memorial Fund, which will be used for other monkeys who find themselves in need of treatment.

ET fought this disease with a spirit that one rarely sees. He always had a smile to greet those who visited, an outreached hand to hold you and a big heart to love you with. ET's memory will always remain in our hearts, he was truly loved.

Lots of monkey love,
Kari and the monks
