Dating Games & Name the Baby Contest

If you have been wondering how the 'Dating Game' is going for Blair since our last Jungle News post, we have some interesting developments in Marmoset Village. Without trepidation, Blair quickly acclimated to her new surroundings and grabbed the heart of little Momo. She is very interested in him, and he is clearly enamored of her charms. We plan to introduce them very soon, so stay tuned!

This budding romance is especially poignant knowing of Blair's loss before her arrival -- her companion at the zoo died recently. The zoo officials tell us that she was heartbroken when she lost her friend. We are so happy we could offer Blair a new home and a new chance for love.  Blair and Momo need sponsors!

As many of you know, we had a couple of baby monkey additions this year...  Michelle's baby girl was born on April 11, 2011, and Elizabeth’s little boy was born July 1, 2011.

As a sanctuary, Jungle Friends has a no-breeding policy, so it was quite a surprise to find expectant mothers turning up!

It was all due to a failed vasectomy in the Texas Rescue group. Of course we quickly separated the possible papas from the other girls, and the situation will be remedied on V-Day, less than two weeks away.

Now the two lovely little babies need names.

To submit your selections:

First join our Facebook Cause -OR- Donate by check, PayPal or charge card to our Name the Baby Contest. Donate $10 per name suggestion or $50 for 6 name suggestions.

Then email your Baby Name suggestions to: info@junglefriends.org. Put "Name the Baby” on the Subject line and include your name.

Entry deadline is New Year's Day, and the drawing to select the winning names will be held January 2. Winners will receive a beautiful photo of the newly named baby and mama, a 2012 Jungle Friends monkey calendar, AND the name you choose will forever be with our Baby Boy or Girl Monkey!

P.S. Visit our MonkeyShines Blog - The Connollys visited Sammy!  It was a wonderful meeting. Sammy connected with the humans who made it possible for him to come to Jungle Friends. Sammy really took a shine to Courtney!
