Alex

Alex arrived at Jungle Friends when he was 30 years old. He was born at Wooster College in Ohio and was used in cognitive and behavioral research his entire life. Alex and his sister Aunt Jake and family friend Aunt Gizmo, were able to retire to sunny Florida after the study ended.

Alex and his companion Aunt Gizmo are both diabetic and receive medication and a special diet to control their disease. However, that doesn’t stop Alex from calling to care staff and reaching his hands out for an extra grape or other special treat. Alex has adapted to sanctuary life very quickly and was the first of the group to venture outside. His favorite activity is to shove a stick in his automatic waterer to make a mud puddle.
