Manson was captured in the rainforest as a youngster, exported to the US and sold into research where he lived for nearly two decades -- all alone in a small cage. Fortunately, after the iron toxicity studies ended, Manson and eight other capuchins retired to Jungle Friends. Here at Jungle Friends, they enjoy large, naturalistic outdoor habitats. Manson is far more relaxed now than when he first arrived at Jungle Friends. Our staff keeps intrusions to a minimum to allow Manson to bond with his monkey friends. He would become very upset when people were too near, he has since been moved to OZ, an area at the sanctuary with less hustle and bustle, and he is doing just great!
