Zeke came to Jungle Friends with his brother – they are third generation descending from an original group of six capuchins that had come to live in a psychology laboratory at Wooster College during the 1970s.

While they lived in a lab, this group of monkeys was lucky enough to live together in a social group, with the same lead researcher who studied them for their behavior, problem-solving skills, and tool use. Several years after the boys retired to Jungle Friends, the rest of the family were also rehomed to the sanctuary. This group included their biological father, aunt and a friend of the family. They were happily reunited at Jungle Friends!
