Bailey was the result of a failed vasectomy. While Bailey's birth was an accident, it was a happy accident for his mother, Bonnie. Before Bonnie came to Jungle Friends, Bonnie was used as a "breeder" for the exotic pet trade. We feel that Bailey's accidental birth gave Bonnie the closure she needed after having so many babies stolen from her. Bailey was fully raised by Bonnie, and she has been a great mother to him -- she nursed and carried Bailey on her back for the first two years of his life. As a result, Bailey is one of the least "humanized" monkeys at Jungle Friends. Bailey is all grown up now, but Bonnie still thinks she needs to protect him -- she will rush to his side if she senses trouble and they both cuddle together at night to sleep. Bailey loves to swing on the ropes and play in the trees. He also enjoys the "monkey rain", splashing and trying to catch the water in his mouth. Bonnie and Bailey spend much of their time grooming each other; they have a very loving relationship.
