Ben was purchased from a breeder when he was only 2 weeks old as a companion for another “pet” monkey named Annie. Ben was quite boisterous -- banging and throwing his toys demanding attention. Later, when Ben became more aggressive in his teen years, most of his teeth were removed.

Ben and Annie arrived after a long drive from Illinois. Ben was the first to venture into his runway connecting his indoor enclosure to his outdoor habitat. He explored every inch of his new environment -- testing the automatic waterers, climbing on the limbs and trees and bouncing in the hammocks. Ben would go back inside to check on Annie, then back out again to chase after bugs and check out his monkey neighbors. After a short time, Ben managed to coax Annie outside; she loves to forage, and was very excited and happy about her new larger life. Ben and Annie will live out their lives in their “Almost Wild” habitat here at Jungle Friends.
