Chewy 1986 - 2018

Chewy arrived at Jungle Friends with seven other capuchins. These boys were used in iron-toxicity studies and spent years in a metal cage – all alone. This study is over and all of the monkeys are now in sanctuary retirement. 

Chewy was such sweet and gentle soul! Even though he was shy at first, he quickly warmed up to Jungle Friends carestaff when he arrived and was the first to lipsmack with us! Chewy was caught in the wild and sold into research, we like to believe he enjoyed spending his golden years back in nature with his monkey friends. See more about the Ironmen here!
