Darwin CT 2001 - 2016

Darwin arrived at Jungle Friends in April of 2015 after the lab where he’d previously lived no longer needed him for research studies. Darwin was one of the more animated monkeys in Munchkinland, and his expressive faces never ceased to entertain. He would often stick the tip of his tongue out when he was confused or excited, much to the amusement of his caregivers. Though Darwin was one of the more hesitant monkeys about the outdoors, he could occasionally be seen hanging out in his outdoor runway or outdoor heat cave, where he could sit back with his partner and watch the world go by.  His sunny runways kept him within close access to his safe and comfy indoor enclosure. Caregivers were happy to know he was able to enjoy the outdoor world to the degree he was comfortable with and he was allowed both options - a roomy safe indoor and lush green habitat with its own heat source for chillier days. He passed away at the age of 15 due to complications from kidney disease.
