Maggie 2010 - 2017

Maggie was privately owned until her guardians realized that she needed to have a monkey life and meet other monkeys. Shortly after Maggie's arrival she was introduced to Monk Monk and they became fast friends -- playing, grooming and snuggling up with each other under their blankets every night. When Monk Monk arrived she was very frail and frightend, Maggie's friendship was instrumental in her adjustment to life at the sanctuary. 

Sadly on Christmas Eve 2017, Maggie passed in Kari's arms. Kari and other staff spent weeks providing around the clock care for Maggie with hopes she would recover from sudden seizures and an increase in her arthritis. Jungle Friends staff cared for Maggie for a little over 6 months, during that time Maggie became a favorite among many. Although Maggie only spent 6 months in our Almost Wild habitats we are glad to have given her this chance to experience freedom. Maggie is missed everyday.
