Lani
On March 12th 2019, April Truitt of Primate Rescue Center brought Biggie, Smalls and Tupac to Jungle Friends. At their arrival, we were unaware that Biggie was pregnant but thought there could be a possibility because the trio was rescued from a breeder. As weeks went by we noticed Biggies abdomen getting larger. On the night of April 19, Lani and her sister were born. At a few week old Lani's sister passed away. Lani still lives with her family in their "Almost Wild" habitat. We are thankful that unlike most baby monkeys, Lani did not get ripped from her mother's arms and sold as a "pet". Biggie has the opportunity for the first time to keep her baby and raise her, something most mother monkeys do not get to do. Lani is growing up so fast and becoming such a curious and adventuring monkey. She loves running in the runways with her family and playing in her outdoor habitat. |
