Ernie
Ernie came to Jungle Friends after being retired from nicotine studies with 25 other squirrel monkeys. CNN reported their arrival with praise for all those who helped make history - this troop is the first to be retired from the FDA. Ernie is a twin with his brother Burt. Ernie is shier than Burt, so when someone brings them a treat Ernie will push Burt to go get it and bring it back. If Ernie is afraid of a new object or treat, he will hug Burt and not let him go. One thing they both hate is being separated. Even if just for a minute while they get room service from the caregivers. If they are separated, they will both start emitting locator calls, chatting back and forth until they are once again in the same area. |
