Clementine

  • Species: Cotton-Top Tamarins (Saguinus oedipus)
  • Gender: Female
  • Birthday: October 12, 2011
  • Arrival: December 2, 2013
  • Background: Ex-Pet
  • Character: Rambunctious

Clementine was purchased as a ‘pet’ when she was only six weeks old, along with her partner Jethro, a marmoset. The two were kept together for several years, until Jethro grew so possessive of her that he would attack anyone who tried to approach her. Luckily, the family contacted Jungle Friends to see if we could provide the two with a more suitable home.

Clementine is now the most rambunctious cotton-top in all of Munchkinland! She loves to sun herself in her runway and climb on the sides of her habitat to see what’s going on all around her. While mixed-species pairs aren’t common at Jungle Friends, she and Jethro are so happy together that they still live together as Munchkinland’s very own ‘odd couple’. She’s even picked up on Jethro’s favorite pastime -- making faces at any humans walking by!
